House of the Dragon, an American fantasy drama television series, is the highly anticipated prequel to the beloved HBO series, Game of Thrones. Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, the show takes us back to the tumultuous history of the Targaryen dynasty, 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Season 1 of House of the Dragon premiered in August 2022 to critical acclaim, winning 10 Emmy Awards. The season introduced us to King Viserys I Targaryen and his children, who struggle for control of the Iron Throne. The cast includes Rhys Ifans, Matt Smith, Graham McTavish, and Fabien Frankel.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon is set to premiere on June 16, 2023, at 9 PM on HBO. The new season will continue the story of the Targaryen civil war, also known as the "Dance of the Dragons."
