Unprecedented Cyberattack Leaves Millions Without Service
In a major cybersecurity incident, Kyivstar, Ukraine's largest telecommunications provider, has been the victim of a sustained attack by Russian hackers that has crippled its systems and left millions of customers without service.
The attack, which began in December, escalated on Tuesday, wiping out all of Kyivstar's systems and knocking out services to over half of Ukraine's population who are mobile subscribers.
Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov confirmed the attack to Kyiv Post, describing it as "unprecedented" and "the most sophisticated cyberattack we have ever seen."
